IoTEAD 2018 workshop is jointly organized by Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management - Kerala (IIITM-K), ACM Trivandrum Professional Chapter, IEEE CE Society Future Directions Committee, IEEE CE Society Malaysian Chapter and Future Tech Lab, India.
The Internet of Things and Smart City initiatives expect to connect 30-50 Billion of smart devices to the Internet creating a connected ecosystem and adding Trillions of USD to the world economy. But the current IoT ecosystem consists of applications that are infrastructure centric, non-interoperable, developed using proprietary modules and cloud based. It is widely acknowledged that the true potential of IoT is in horizontal, open, standardized and secure applications. Thus, the workshop aims at forming a platform to create secure, connected and interoperable consumer IoT applications. We invite participants from Academia and Industry to advance their understanding on IoT application development with a consumer focus. Participating in the workshop will be valuable in terms of professional development, ameliorating your understanding of IoT and Smart Cities, business networking and learning novel areas of research.
This workshop is one of the series of workshops planned by IEEE CE Society Future Directions Committee which is engaged in consumer centric IoT. Future Tech Lab is supporting the workshop through its “Academy for IoT” (A4IoT) initiative, a training and certification program. It equips the participants with an advanced content focusing on the IoT, Smart Cities, Connected Infrastructure and Industrial IoT. Participants will receive a certificate of participation from the organizers.
A team comprising of seasoned volunteers and professionals from IIITM-K, ACM, IEEE CE Society and Future Tech Lab, India is involved in the workshop organization. The venue, logistics and support for the workshop is provided by IIITM-K. Explara is the official registration and ticketing partner of the event.
Who should attend?
The international workshop on IoT is designed to provide a functional yet hands-on exposure to ongoing IoT applications, protocols and solutions. Industry sectors intending to develop IoT skills, SMEs, students, researchers and academics, and IoT enthusiasts will benefit substantially from the workshop IoTEAD 2018.
The single-track workshop program spans across two days, includes four industry keynotes, interactive sessions on ideation and hands-on training for rapid prototyping of an IoT application. Day one focuses on knowledge and ecosystem perspectives on IoT security, Artificial Intelligence, Business Visions and IoT strategies. Day two follows up with an IoT prototyping problem, requirements study, solution building, coding and testing. The prototyping experience will enable the participants to build real solutions in their domains with a potential for implementing the solutions within a short time to the market.
